November Wrap-Up

It was a slow month for me as I frantically tried to finish some challenges and failed a bit.  Believe it or not I am actually trying to keep my challenges more manageable for next year.
Anyway, favorite book this month was, well, frankly there wasn't a favorite.  None of the books I read really stood out though most were enjoyable.
How was your November?

Nancy Drew Recap - July, August & September

I started off the year doing really well and I'm fizzling out a bit.  Not out of lack of interest, but mostly because I have a whole lot to read and I haven't fit any Nancy Drew in.  One week I'll have to concentrate on reading just Nancy.  But I'm past the half way mark at least.

(I also won a prize from this challenge.  Exciting!)

Well, I had a good month.  My favorite book was Lord Sunday followed by Heist Society.  I love a good heist.  I did quite a bit of reading this, thanks in part to an incredible (for me) 6 books in the last full week of March.  All and all, not too shabby.

Nancy Drew March Recap

I'm a quarter of the way through the books so I'm feeling pretty good about that.
Questions that I have asked: Is Nancy Drew really a good detective or is everyone else just really dumb?  Why do the villains want to confess so badly?  Are the police resentful that an 18 year old girl does all the dirty work for them or are they grateful?  Do they mind taking orders (or "suggestions") from her?  Why is Carson Drew so famous and well-regarded?  Does Ned mind that he is really only there for the muscle?

10. Password to Larkspur Lane
11. The Clue in the Broken Locket
12. The Message in the Hollow Oak
13. The Mystery of the Ivory Charm
14. The Whispering Statue

I also reviewed the old 1930's Nancy Drew movies for fun.

My favorite book this month would have to be And Another Thing.  I really liked how it captured the Hitchhiker's spirit.   My favorite audio would be any of the Nancy Drews but especially The Mystery at Lilac Inn.  I love Laura Linney's narration.  I got through a lot of audiobooks this month, 6!  But my reading was a little hampered by my inability to decide what to read next.

Nancy Drew February Recap

I've done fairly well getting through the Nancy Drews and since I set up my Sleuthing Sundays, I've been posting several at once every other Sunday.  I find that my recaps are getting a little snarky.  I love Nancy Drew but there is an abundance of exclamation points and some fairly obvious plot points.

So I managed to listen to the entire Keys to the Kingdom series WAY before the 7th book comes out.  Ah, well love those books.  Favorite book of the month? Honestly, I don't think there was one.  I was very impressed with the world building in Foundling but other that, nothing really stands out.
I joined a lot of challenges set for next year and I know of at least 2 others that I will be joining.  Also there is a lot of cross over between some of the challenges so that will make it more manageable.
I hope everyone had a good month.  Happy reading!
