And I'm back...

Yes, yes. I know I announced I was closing shop but I missed it too much. I hate when bloggers do this but here I am under a different name. New year, new things, right?
So I'm going to try this again. I really liked book blogging but I didn't like feeling pressure. It was pressure I put on myself to review constantly and I know that won't happen again. This is a hobby, not a profession so I'm going to review as I read and maybe even read and not review. But still I'm happy to be back, no matter how it goes. It's good to have an outlet.

A long time coming

I think that it's time I called it quits officially. I really do wish I could keep book blogging. I think about it after I finish a book and I think about the review I'd write. But the truth is that I don't have the willpower to get it done anymore. I enjoyed my time blogging and I'd like to pick it back up one day. But that day is not today and it won't be for a long time. So thanks for reading along with me and for reading this whatever followers I may still have. I like to share photos of what I'm reading on Instagram if you ever wonder what I'm up to.

But this is just a note to say that  I appreciate it all. It's been a good time.

Happy 2015!

Happy New Year! I'm day late but I spent most of yesterday in the ER with my youngest (she's fine) and that was exhausting.
I have been getting a little reading done lately. And I've been thinking about picking up reviews again. I've been reading Mary Kay Andrews and enjoying her fun, quirky characters. I'm about to start Blue Lily, Lily Blue. I've also got my son interested in audio books and he's become a fan of the Peter and the Starcatchers series. So that's been fun!

Hello

I realized the other day that I haven't posted anything, not even a Weekly Round-Up for a while but I was surprised to see that my last post was August 20th. Where did that time go? It's been super busy lately at home and at work so I have been neglecting my hobbies including sadly, reading, and this blog. But it's all cool though. I'll be back soon, I'm sure. I never can stay away for too long.

Weekly Round-Up 5/19

Weekly Round-Up is my wrap-up of last week's activities and includes what I'm reading this week, reviews I've posted, books in the mail and anything else of interest plus From the Library, my weekly listing of what I've checked out from the library.
I'm reading The Diamond Thief by Sharon Gosling and All Joy and No Fun by Jennifer Senior. I'm listening to The False Prince by Jennifer A. Nielsen, read by Charlie McWade.

Last week I reviewed Why We Broke Up by Daniel Handler and When Did You See Her Last? by Lemony Snicket, read by Liam Aiken.

This week on SYNC you can download WARP: The Reluctatn Assassin by Eoin Colfer, narrated by Maxwell Caulfield (Listening Library) and The Time Machine by H.G. Wells, narrated by Derek Jacobi (Listening Library). Downloads are free til Wednesday.
Thursday the new downloads are Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge, narrated by Elizabeth Knowelden (Harper Audio) and Oedipus the King by Sophocles, performed by Michael Sheen and a full cast (Naxos AudioBooks).

And today is my birthday! We already celebrated this weekend so I'm not anticipating much today. Just lunch with my co-workers.

A note on book blogging

I use to blog everyday and do challenges and try to have a review a day and comment on everyone else's reviews. But then I got pregnant and had a baby and I just couldn't do it anymore. I am apparently not one of those people who can juggle work and a kindergartner and a baby at the same time as trying to maintain a book blog. Which sounds stupid when you write it out but there it is. So I took a hiatus and basically stopped reading. I've been a life long reader but still I have periods where nothing is appealing. And the blogging came to a stop. Now I think I have a better balance in my personal life and I've started reading again. So I'm trying to restart this old thing again. Because I really do enjoy book blogging. But the everyday thing and the challenge thing and the commenting thing isn't going to happen like it did before. So to anyone who still visits and reads the sparse reviews I put up. Thanks so much.

So I had a baby...

Just a quick update: I had a baby about two weeks ago. She is a wonderful baby, so sweet and very content. I just wanted to let ya'll know that I'm still around even if I never comment or post anymore. I just have something new and beautiful to take care of right now.

Littlest Bookworm

There will be a new little bookworm at my house.  YES I am expecting a baby at the beginning of April and am so excited.  As you may or may not know, I already have a 4 year old (5 in December) and now I'll have a little baby too.  I can't wait!  But as long as pregnancy feels, it does go by quickly in the end. If I've been absent lately, it's because this is what I have been concentrating on lately.
